The Gateway To Happiness

Do you truly desire happiness? Everyone says yes, but the path to happiness has some of us squirming in our boots. Giving to others is a path to pleasure. Consider this: “For the sake of others’ happiness, cultivate empathy. Compassion is the key to happiness.” ~ Dalai Lama.

Some of us may worry that people will take advantage of our generosity if we offer too much. In fact, your good intentions may be misconstrued as weakness by a small number of egotistical people.

However, the majority of individuals are not interested in taking advantage of the situation. “We must be the change, we want to see in the world,” attributed to Gandhi. Think about it: if we’re going to make a change, why not start with each other?

Make a donation at any time, without asking for anything in return, and don’t even tell anybody about it. Those who benefit from your charitable deeds will thank you for it. However, bigger than that, universal forces will ensure that charity is

This is what some people call “karma,” or the rule of cause and consequence. In this way, every action has a corresponding reaction. Ensure that our actions have positive outcomes.

Danny Thomas remarked, ” “Despite the fact that we are all created for a reason, we don’t know what that reason is. Life success has nothing to do with personal gains or accomplishments. It’s about what you do for others. For others, it’s about what you do for them.”

You will leave a legacy of compassion if you give up everything you have. People will try to forget you if you don’t give them something to remember you by. I want the memories I leave behind to be positive ones, since that’s all I have to go on.

So, how much should you contribute? “Heart felt,” “kind words,” a letter, a card, or a flower are all examples of “heartfelt” gestures. You’ll discover that your donations won’t leave you penniless. As a consequence, you’ll find that most individuals are naturally inclined to repay the favor.

Be courteous to everyone who provides services to you on a regular basis. When it comes to the cleaner, janitor, parking lot attendant, or customer service representative, many folks don’t even say hello.

The more you get to know the person, the more likely they are to go out of their way to provide you with excellent service, simply by addressing them with their first name.

People will appreciate your genuineness and trustworthiness no matter where you travel. That’s all there is to it. A person’s actual riches, according to Mohammed, “is the good he or she does in the world.”

Hey, You’ve Got This!

As an entrepreneur, you are well aware that your success cannot be contingent on the judgments of others. As with the wind, opinions fluctuate…as with the weather, opinions fluctuate constantly. To succeed in any activity, you must maintain your course…at any cost! Here are some tried-and-true strategies to assist you on your course.

Abstain from negativity. We are surrounded by negative individuals. They can be family members or a close friend. Oftentimes, it’s the opinions of complete strangers that generate the greatest animosity, as if someone who does’nt know or understand you is capable of expressing a rational opinion about you.

No, you should not shun those in your immediate circle; rather, there are topics of discussion that are less profitable. Accept constructive criticism with grace, but divert the topic away from endless negative talk. Unless you take control, negativity will grow on you.

Strengthen Yourself. No, I am not suggesting that you inflate your ego; rather, you can be your own best source of encouragement by encouraging yourself. How are you going to accomplish this? Read the testimonies of previous entrepreneurs/successful entrepreneurs. Richard Branson, Dr. Claude Anderson, and the great Earvin “Magic” Johnson are among contemporary success tales of persons who rose from “rags to riches” [or from humble beginnings to tremendous influence]. There are several success tales from the past, including those of Earl Graves Sr., James Forten, and Thomas Jennings.

Return to the Beginning.  If you begin to doubt, consider what prompted you to take your “leap of faith” in the first place. Recall what it takes to succeed: discipline, self-confidence, independence, perseverance, and sacrifice, among other things. Consider the anticipated outcomes: a comfortable income, independence, a career you enjoy, and so forth. Finally, recall the worst job you’ve ever had…imagine yourself doing it again. Blah! Utilize all means necessary to push yourself.

Therefore, cast off negative ideas and focus on what is uplifting, motivating, encouraging, warm, kind, and helpful. You are on track to accomplish great things as long as you don’t let the negative remarks of others to distract you.

The Simple Things Add Up… There Is So Much To Be Grateful For!

It’s real easy to become one of those people who love to complain (the woe is me people). They tend to complain all the time about everything under the sun. As a youth and young adult, I was innocent enough to believe what people were saying. I really thought there were plenty of valid reasons to complain: about the weather (most often), lack of money (runner-up), “white” folk, “black” folk, neighbors, friends, coworkers, the heavy set person taking up two seats on the subway, bad health, etc. I assumed the world just turned out to be like this and there was nothing much I could do about it. Being in that environment it’s really easy to get infected by that way of being.

Fortunately for me something clicked though, especially as I started traveling outside of the U.S., and reflecting on the culture and society I was born into. One of the great benefits of being born and spending time outside of the United States is having a different view of the world. Even though I was born and raised in the central city of Georgetown, Guyana, and we had indoor plumbing; I knew of and were friends with other kids who weren’t as fortunate. I saw poverty of a kind not comparable to that in the U.S. Yet these folks often had nothing but big smiles on their faces, while we had everything and were still complaining! How could this be?

It became crystal clear to me that the complaints had nothing to do with the outer circumstances. It was an attitude, a habit formed over time.

As I matured, and through countless interactions in the world, I learned that inner loneliness, clinging to expectations of how “we” think things should be, instead of appreciating what is, was among the reasons why we complain so much.

I realized further that the people, who seemed to complain very little, were those who connected to something “greater” than themselves.

Here’s what shifted for me. I began to express sincere gratitude for all the love and “hate” I had received and will keep receiving throughout your life. I became grateful for the clean water coming out of the tap, with just a simple gesture of my hand. Take into consideration that there are many people in other parts of the world spending upwards of six hours every day to get a little bit of water, and an unfortunate number die of thirst.

I became grateful for the lights that came on when I would flip the switch in my apartment. Large parts of the world have to do without electrical power! Say “thank you” for the variety of food that is available to you every day, around the globe there are countless numbers who get by on one scarce meal a day, or are simply starving.

3 Powerful Steps to Using the Secret

The first thing everyone wants to know after watching the movie the Secret is, “How do I use what i just learned?” That’s understandable because although the movie is good and introduces the concepts to the law of attraction, it doesn’t really tell you how to properly apply it to your life.

Step One

One of the first things you can do is, educate yourself as much as possible on the subject of the law of attraction. Learn the very nature of the law of attraction and how it influences your life.

The core of the secret, are your thoughts which goes a lot deeper than negative verses positive thought. If you understood the true nature of thought, you would be a huge step above those who think they understand the law of attraction. The biggest secret, you have to do your part! see step three

Step Two

The second step to mastering the secret law of attraction is to get a journal. Yep, he went there. Get a journal, and begin to writing. Do you know most people have no clue what their predominant thought patterns are, nor do they even know what it is that they want. It doesn’t really matter where you begin, just start. Write what ever comes up, doesn’t even have to make sense in the beginning. The point is you’ve started…

When you get a journal you can begin to explore your feelings on a much deeper level. Seeing your feelings on paper clears it up from being cluttered in your mind. Your thoughts are a gift, and a curse, putting them to paper can be liberating. Give it a shot!

Step Three

The third step to using the law of attraction is to take small inspired action towards your goals. With your new law of attraction journal you can begin to track daily, every action you take that is in alignment with your goals. Its very hard for most people to be aware of the way they spend their time. When you set a specific plan and track it in your journal you have a better chance of seeing how your week has gone, your month and then your year.

Final Thoughts

How many times must we do the same crazy things that get us the same crazy results over and over again. Know doubt you know this quote “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.” Then many people say that the law of attraction did not work in their lives, actually the law of attraction did work. It gave you more of the same conditions you were creating again and again. How does that not make sense!

What It Takes To Live Your Best Life

Would you agree that everything in the universe is vibrating on any given frequency? If you agree, then can you identify with the understanding that our vibration will attract the circumstances and events that compose our lives?

The signals you emit are made up of your thoughts, beliefs, and the emotions that these create within you. You’re experiences tend to match what you’ve got your focus on.

You do have the power to affect your experiences by paying attention to what you focus on. This is where your power is. If you are focused on the negative aspects of your experience, you will create more of the same, which you then focus on and create more of, and so on in a vicious cycle. Fortunately, this works the other way too! If you choose to focus on the positive aspects of any experience, you will create more positive aspects you can then focus on, and continue bringing more positive experiences into your life. Even if you can only find one positive aspect to focus on in a situation that has many more negative aspects, and you keep choosing to keep your focus on the one positive part, you will soon see improvement in that situation that will give you more, that’s positive to focus on. It’s a gradual, continual process. And it works!

Just because something is how it is, does not mean it has to stay that way!  Just because you’ve had a lot of it in the past, does not mean you’re doomed to have more of it in the future! If you don’t like it, know that you do have the power to change it. And if you do like it, know that you can create more of it, if you wish to.

Gradually shifting your perception to include more of what you do like, opens the flow so more like it can come to you.
